Award-Winning ‘Semisubmarine’ Designed by Ayden Marine Sold to India
The innovative Semisubmarine, designed by Ayden Marine and awarded for its originality, has found its new owner overseas. The vessel, which features a semi-submersible structure and stands out as the first of its kind in Turkey, has been sold to a client in India’s Andaman Islands.
Measuring 26 meters in length and 8 meters in beam, the vessel includes a 3-meter-deep observation tube integrated into its lower hull, providing passengers with an immersive underwater experience without full submersion. With its futuristic design and advanced construction, the Semisubmarine has attracted attention as both a blue cruise vessel and marine safari platform, quickly becoming a favorite among tourists.
Numerous international buyers expressed interest in the project, but it was ultimately sold for use in tourism and underwater exploration activities in India. Following the success of the first unit, construction has already begun on a second model, expected to be longer and deeper to offer even more impressive underwater experiences.
Commenting on the ongoing project, Ayçın Özsakabaşı, General Manager of Ayden Marine, stated:
“We love being first and bringing something new. The new Submarine we’re currently designing will showcase all our latest innovations. It will be larger, greener, and even more exciting for underwater enthusiasts.”
Recognized for Innovation
The Semisubmarine project earned Ayden Marine the Innovative Project Award from the Türk Loydu Foundation, a recognition given to companies that support and deliver pioneering maritime work. Additionally, the vessel won the Golden Anchor Maritime Achievement Award in the Innovation category, further solidifying its impact in the industry.
As the construction of the next-generation Submarine continues, no official statement has been made regarding its future buyer. However, expectations are high for this larger and more eco-friendly vessel to set a new benchmark in underwater tourism.
